Invitation Styles

Almost all couples we work with say the same thing to us over and over again

“I never knew there was so much choice with invitations”

The Wedding industry as a whole is an utter minefield of constant information, decision after decision, colour scheme after colour scheme. And for stationery, this also includes a lot of the design aspects as well. For us, we have 6 styles of invitation, and this is a small number compared to what is out there!

So, in order to help a wee bit with what certain words such as “bundle” and “chequebook” actually mean, below we have created some very basic illustrations in the hope that we can give you a little help when choosing the style of invitation to go for.

Folded Wedding Invitation

Our folded invites are roughly 6” x 6” in size. These fold open like a book and have the front panel decorated as well as the inside right panel as well. We can also add an inside left panel to act as an information panel too should it be required, but at an additional cost.

6" x 6" and 5" x 7" Flat Wedding Invitations

These are exactly as their name suggest. They are a 2 or 3 layered flat card that has both the decoration and the details all on the front panel. They can also be double sided if you have more information, where we’ll pop these details on the reverse at an additional cost.

Pocketfold Wedding Invitation

Our Pocketfold invites are 6x6 in size as well and from the outside look like a folded invite. However, our pocketfolds come with a small panel on the front which, when lifted, releases a magnetic clasp on the inside to “fold” the invite open. The lid is folded up and the exposed panel underneath is then folded down, to reveal the invite panel in the middle, and then the bottom section contains the “pocket” where up to 3 inserts can be stored. Our pocketfolds come with an RSVP and 1 information card included in the price, but another tiered information card can be used if needed, although at an additional cost.

5x7 Bundle.png

Wedding Invitation Bundles

2 of our Handmade ranges and all of our printed ranges come with this option for invites.

Invite bundles are a great way of combining a lot of information in one place, and then tying or bundling it up into one self-contained, neat parcel.

Our bundles come as standard in 5x7 format and can house a staggering 3-4 separate inserts, all happily contained under a bellyband, or invitation wrap. This wrap is used to keep all the documents together in one place, so that nothing falls out and can get lost.

Invitation Box.png

Boxed Wedding Invitations

Boxed invitations are essentially all the invites listed above, but in boxes. Currently we only offer our 6x6 invites in this style and the main reason for this is become of supply and demand. Our luxury handmade invites are all made using 6x6 blanks and are more suited to being boxed.

The boxes come decorated to match the invite inside with most, if not all having a tag or panel on them to “address” the invite to the receiver. Whilst not a standard option for a lot of couples, boxed invites are primarily given to close family members only, such as Mother and Father of the bride/ Groom and are meant to be kept as a keepsake or memento of the day.

Chequebook Wedding Invitations

This is another where the clue is in the name. Chequebooks are a long time in the past now, with fewer and fewer banks using them. That said their unique design to house multiple pages in one compact book paved the way for a great invitation design.

Chequebook invites are identical to their monetary counterparts; they have a front cover with the details on the front, which opens up to reveal several staggered pages, each with the right hand side having labels such as “Invite” and “Information” on them so guests know which tab to select to find what they want. The RSVP is detachable, just like the pages in a normal chequebook and can then be sent in the RSVP envelope which is hidden behind the final page. This is all bound together using sorcery and magic, again just like the originals
