The Proofing Process

One of the most crucial aspects when it comes to creating your invitations and / or stationery is proofing. Here's a rundown of our ordering and proofing process:

1. Place Your Order

You can either place your order by using the configuration options on the website or, if you need some help, we'll create a custom order for you based on your requirements.

At this stage the only information we'll gather will be:

  • Your chosen design, items, configuration and quantities
  • Your shipping details

We keep enough stock in-house to fulfill samples only - the materials selected will be placed into a pending stock order until sign-off is completed which commits the materials and quantities; our stock ordering rotation for the fulfillment of customer orders is weekly.

All of our invitation and stationery ranges have a minimum order quantity which also applies to overages after the event, so we would strongly recommend building a 10%-15% overage into your requirements.

2. Details Requested

Typically within 24 hours we will send you an email requesting the information we need to begin the proofing process. This email will be sent from hello@ellebeedesign.co.uk and sent to the email address you used when processing your order.

For Save the Dates and Invitations this will be all of the key bits of information relating to your day; the who, where, when and any additional bits of detail required. If your order includes personalised printing, such as the printing of guest names, envelope addressing and alike, you'll be sent a template to complete with all of this information too.

For table plans, you'll be sent a template to complete with all of your guest details and who's sitting where.

3. Proofs Sent

From here we'll send you over the initial draft of your items, in .pdf format. For suites of items this will usually be a single .pdf file containing all elements (invitation, RSVP, inserts, belly band).

4. Reviews

There are two revision rounds included with every wedding invitation and stationery order we process, ensuring that you can request changes to content and minor layout adjustments. We'll work with you 1-on-1 to ensure that we're accurately reflecting any changes requested.

5. Approval

The acceptance of your proofs is formalised by using a link on our website to confirm we can move forward with your order, both in terms of the content created but the materials requested and their quantities.

6. Printing

Now that your order is approved you'll move into our printing and production schedule. At this stage we'll order what we need and begin the printing of your items.

7. Shipping

Our goal is to ship all wedding invitation and stationery orders within 2 weeks of the sign-off being received. A courier service is used in all instances, whether in the UK or abroad.
