Here at Elle Bee we love taking a meaningful approach to invitations and stationery. And nothing says this more than letterpress.
We took delivery of our press - nicknamed Lawrence - in 2024 and this press dates back all the way to the 19th century from when it was first made.
As a human-made, no-AI business, it's important to us that we're doing our bit in keeping traditional print methods alive. And this translates into luxury wedding stationery that's given and presented with real intentionality, care and love.
Letterpress Invitations
In a largely digital world nothing provides a more tactile invitation option than letterpress printing.
Combining a meticulous and entirely handmade approach, all invitations are made with skill and care.
Combine letterpress printing on luxurious cotton stock with other print techniques to achieve a cohesive, luxurious result.
Letterpress Save the Dates
We've done a lot of work with letterpress printing on save the dates since taking delivery of our press. Whether it's bespoke elements like venue illustrations or off-the-peg design, nothing announces a wedding like letterpress does.
We are working hard in the background to get these purchasable via the website but in the interim, pop us a message and we can discuss the options with you.
An entirely handmade approach, from start to finish
With letterpress we don't take any shortcuts, whether it's testing depth impression into cotton stock, adjusting alignment or mixing ink.
If something doesn't make the grade, then it doesn't get made until it does.
When it comes to ink we offer 12 standard colours but also mix, by hand, to the Pantone colour guide.
On-the-Day Letterpress Items
At present we have focused on before-the-day items using letterpress printing. When it comes to items on the day itself, letterpress wedding stationery will be restricted to menu cards only.
The reason for this is that letterpress printing requires a plate to be engraved (either into polymer or metal) with the personalised design. This means that if you have 12 table numbers - for example - you'll have to cough up for 12 plates to be made which isn't very practical.
Whilst we don't have letterpress menus to show on our website just yet, they will be coming soon and can be ordered today. Just pop us a message so we can chat through the options with you.

Samples
Letterpress printing is available as part of our "Ultimate Wedding Stationery Sample" box which covers a number of designs and styles, along with a full colour swatch and brochure, all in a neat presentation box.
Samples are strongly recommended so you can experience what makes letterpress so different.
Consultations
At time of writing letterpress stationery can't be purchased directly via the website and, whilst we can absolutelly arrange a quote via email, many couples like the reassurance of a 1-on-1 chat to talk through all of the options.
Our consultations run every week with options for both midweek and Saturdays and are a great way for us to help you navigate through the choices, avoid the technical jargon, and leave you feeling comfortable about the stationery journey ahead.
