Bespoke Wedding Invitations & Stationery

Bespoke Wedding Invitations & Stationery

When it comes to custom wedding invitations and stationery our house collections are very flexible, versatile and customisable. But if you're looking for something truly one-of-a-kind then we'd love to help you bring your ideas to life.

The word "bespoke" means different things to different people and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to bespoke work. Some elements might seem complicated but are quite straightforward and, in some cases, the reverse applies.

This guide covers some examples of what we would class as bespoke work.

Venue Illustration

One of the most popular options for making invitations and stationery unique is to incorporate an illustration of your venue.

If this is something that you already have then we can potentially integrate this into one of our existing designs, or make it the basis of something new.

However if you want to incorporate a new illustration into your design, this is something we can arrange. With the right file format we can foil press or letterpress a venue illustration for you.

The illustration can also be used on larger signage such as table plans and welcome signs, alongside smaller stationery items like menu cards.

Custom Shapes & Sizes

Unlike a hobbyist desktop machine where it will take hours and hours to cut shapes, Vinny (our flatbed die cutter), loves custom shapes.

Whilst we have a number of options natively available - such as with our arched and shaped invitation suites - we can easily cut to custom shapes and sizes on-site.

And for something simpler such as slim profile invitations or squares, most of our designs can be adapted to suit a bespoke approach to shapes and sizes.

Maps

Whilst they can be a useful and functional part of your invitations, they're also a decorative element to include and look particularly beautiful in traditionally-styled invitations.

Much like venue illustrations if you have a map already designed then we can look at ways in which this can be integrated into your choice of invitations. Or, if you'd like a map created for you then we can do this.

With the right file formatting and design maps can also be foil pressed or letterpressed.

Incorporating a Wedding Logo

A number of our house designs incorporate motifs, monograms and logos as standard. But if you've already got something designed and ready to go then we should be able to integrate this with one of our existing designs.

In most cases picking a design that already has a motif or monogram would be the best bet, as we can then swap this out without compromising the rest of the design.

The pictured example is our Angel collection with the foliage removed and a custom monogram added.

Font Changes

Mostly relevant for designs that incorporate artwork, it may be the case that you like the overall style but want to use typography from another design.

This pictured example is our Warwick invitation with typography from our Willesden collection.

So if you want to combine designs or adjust fonts in your design, we can do this on a bespoke basis.

Please note that we only use fonts that are currently in our library and that we have the commercial licenses for.

Bespoke Accessories

The majority of our designs are typography based which means we can get flexible with accessories and, with our ability to precisely die cut in our studio, provide items like custom wallets and sleeves.

This pictured example is our Hoxton collection - we've reformatted the invitation to be square and made a wallet / sleeve, with both items being foil pressed in gold.

Beyond this we can look at physical accessories like tassels, cotton twine, dried pressed flowers, and more.

Religious Events

If you're having a traditional religious event such as a Hindu wedding, then your invitation requirements will likely be a little different than our conventional invitation packages.

This can extend to religious symbology and a mixture of invitation types for different events that are connected to the wedding, with different quantities for each.

If you have a religious event then we'll be able to cater for this with a bespoke package for you.

Custom Items

Whilst we have an extensive library of stationery items you may be looking for something that we don't currently have immediately purchasable.

This could be vow books, custom QR code cards, personalised coasters. If it's paper or acrylic based, then there's a good chance we'll be able to do this for you!

Additional Inserts

Whilst most weddings will be catered for with our standard package sizes, some have more complex requirements.

For example, you may want to provide guests with as much prior notice as possible to book accommodation - we've included inserts with save the dates for this in the past. Or you may have an additional event (such as a breakfast the day after the wedding, or a dinner the night before) for a select few of your guests.

In which case we can add these relevant items into your suite in the quantities required, in custom sizes if necessary.

What does bespoke stationery cost?

Going bespoke for your wedding invitations and / or stationery will typically take longer and will come with additional costs.

But what these costs are and how long things take will be dependent upon the nature of the bespoke work required. For example, integrating your wedding monogram into one of our existing designs will likely result in a small charge and little in the way of a time increase.

However if you are looking at commissioning us for a venue illustration, map, or integrating custom sizes and shapes, the cost and time will be more extended.

So as a guide a small change will likely carry a cost of £50, whereas for more elaborate bespoke work you can look at this being upwards of £200. But these are general guides, please use the contact form below to start the conversation with us.

What isn't included?

There are a few things which are off-limits when it comes to bespoke stationery; the main one being copyrighted material. So for example, we wouldn't create anything with a Disney or Marvel theme.

Licensing costs are extremely expensive which makes them cost-prohibitive and use of copyrighted material for commercial use can result in significant penalties.

When sharing reference material this will be on the understanding that we will not be copying like-for-like, as we will not copy another designer's work.

A quick note about Canva

For digital work, Canva is a great tool but it doesn't translate well to printing. We do not print existing designs that will have been made in Canva and any logos, imagery, maps, etc, will need to have been created using another method. It is cost and time-prohibitive to repair Canva files ready for print.

If you have created something in Canva then we can use it as inspiration for a new composition only using more suitable design software.
