eSave the Dates - FAQs
What are save the dates?
A save the date is an initial announcement of your wedding date and location, enabling guests to make appropriate plans in advance to attend.
Should I send save the dates?
Whilst optional, save the dates are recommended to give your guests as much prior notice as possible. This can be especially useful if your wedding day falls in a popular holiday period. If you do decide to skip save the dates, we’d recommend sending invitations a little earlier than usual to compensate.
When should I send save the dates?
We would typically suggest sending with a minimum of 12 months to your wedding date. The reality is that you can send save the dates as soon as your date and venue is secured.
Do I send save the dates for evening guests?
Whilst not as crucial, it’s often recommended to include guests you intend to invite to your evening reception. We can tailor the wording for both versions in a single order; simply order both versions and we'll proof / design both for you.
What information is included with a save the date?
Save the dates are typically very simple. It will be the names of the couple, wedding date, location – which can be very general at this point – and that there will be an invitation to follow. In some cases you may wish to include a website if you already have one created.
How long will my order take?
We suggest 1 week for design for digital save the dates. A single revision round is included, so whether this revision is required and the speed of which we receive the details will contribute to the overall lead time.
Can I change colours?
You can! Simply select the background colour before adding to cart and we'll use this for the background when creating your initial proof.
With light shades we'll use black text, with dark shades we'll use white text.
Can I edit the template myself?
Due to commercial licensing rules with fonts and artwork, we do not have the ability to provide end user access directly to the fonts and artwork we've licensed. So we'll do the creating, then you can distribute the final file to your guests as you see fit.
